Crib in Eugenio Granell Foundation

Museum Reception
December 16, 2011 – January 9, 2012

One year more, the Eugenio Granell Foundation joins the Christmas celebrations with its own particular crib. A must-see for adults and children at this time of year.
The crib is made up of objects from the Eugenio Granell Foundation’s ethnic art collection. The result is an island-like composition in the museum reception, featuring a meticulous selection of traditional artworks and works from other cultures.
This singular vision includes objects that have nothing to do with customary Christmas figures, thereby adding the Foundation’s characteristic surrealist touch. It offers a different perspective full of meaning, especially for the times we are living in, a reflection of the multiculturalism present throughout Granell’s career and in his collections.
This exhibition is also interactive, since it features different activities such as questionnaires that establish a link between the public and the Bestiary exhibition, which is on display in our museum. We will be able to contemplate works from different parts of the world, ranging from Mexican trees of life to objects from Portugal, Puerto Rico, Tunisia, India, Peru or Guatemala, among other artworks
