FAUSTO ISORNA. O CEO DAS ILUSIÓNS E OUTRAS COLAXES: 1993-2014

March, 6 – May, 11
Room Amparo. Second Floor

The individual exhibition O ceo das ilusións e outrascolaxes: 1993-2014, by the artist Fausto Isorna, will be on display in the Eugenio Granell Foundation Museum’s Amparo Room on the second floor from March 6 to May 11.
On this occasion, the artist introduces us to a conventional format of the collage: a composition made after “dislocation,” contributing new images from elements obtained from other works, giving them a new mission and playing with a fictitious contrast between textures and colours.
The collages on display were made between 1993 and 2014 and have not previously been exhibited. In fact, part of the work was made especially for this occasion.
The exhibition also includes collages that form part of different publications, such as Mellor que decila fora pintala or Las tardes Oscuras. Another example of Fausto’s versatility is his pleasure in showing and relating, now in the action, perhaps perverse, his way of manipulating the plastic space and presenting the figures at the disposal of his own ideas. Another open window into the artist’s fascinating imagination.
Fausto Isorna has surprised us in different fields of the world of art. We can thus find his work in areas such as graphic design, illustration, publishing and, above all, in the world of comics. He is the creator of the Valium Dez fanzine, which has become a point of reference for other professionals of that time, and of the Golfiño character, icon of the magazine of the same name, published by Edicións Xerais, of which he would become the artistic director. Also as a publisher, it is worth mentioning his work as artistic director in El Patito Editorial.
In connection with this exhibition, El patito editorial has prepared a catalogue featuring reproductions of the works on display, along with a critical reflection by the artist and teacher Manolo Figueiras.
