The exhibition Crise de identidade is curated by Ángel Calvo Ulloa and made up of works by Eugenio Granell, Din Matamoro, Kepa Garraza, Alain Urrutia, Fermín Jiménez Landa, Diego Vites, Kurt Schnitzer (Conrado), Nacho Martín Silva, Tamara Kuselman and Damián Ucieda.
Crise de identidade features a series of plastic artists who, with their different works, develop their vision of individual or collective identity. The restraint shown by certain agents with regard to our anonymity has vanished, based first of all on aspects of public safety, at a time when the worst predictions have come true, and where the need for going unnoticed has become an impossible task. The exhibition is a profound reflection on the origin of the individual as a social construction, or the image we project to the world and in which we unexpectedly do not recognise ourselves.
The work Uno, ninguno y cien mil, which follows Pirandellos surrealist tendency, serves as a pretext and reflection, in an application of psychoanalysis, in which the individuals everyday life is suddenly replaced by a series of oneiric situations. This sudden influence is no coincidence, since Bretons Surrealist Manifesto was relatively recent and because Pirandellos tendency towards the Theatre of the Absurd was directly related to Alfred Jarrys work.
