The exhibition Meanwhile the Logic of the Object
features a selection of the artist Rosendo Cids photographs, objects and drawings. Starting from the concept, Rosendo uses objects that he manipulates beforehand and thereafter forms into a collage based on their interaction with other objects. The photographs on display provide the final documentary resulting from this manipulation and assemblage of different objects. In the discipline of drawing, the artist plays with concepts of the artistic field, which he uses as a pretext to produce a series of metaphoric pieces, where irony is an essential pillar in this project. He does not follow any particular artists as a model, but claims that his inspiration comes from art, literature and cinema.
Rosendo Cid (1974, Ourense) earned a Fine Art degree from Vigo University specializing in Sculpture and undertook, in this same University, two doctoral courses in Knowledge and Artistic Production.
He has displayed his work in a considerable number of individual exhibitions, among which 365 maneras de estar en el mundo (Exteril, Portugal, 2012) and Outras formas da xenética (Municipal Museum of Ourense, 2011) stand out. And starting in 1997, he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions such as La 12 Mostra Internacional Gas Natural Fenosa MACUF, A Coruña (2012); or the initiative (along with MaríaChenut) in Pierre Paulus park, ParcousDartistes Saint-Gilles, Brussels (2010).
